Closing The Gap Tool 

Target Audience: All school staff who have a PEF remit and are responsible for completing the Closing the Gap Tool

This drop-in session will provide advice and guidance on completing the Closing the Gap Tool and using the Power BI data dashboard.  The session will also cover the Education Interventions Tool and how this links to the CTGT.

ELC Middle Leadership Programme

Target Audience: PECPs, Equity and Excellence Leads and Depute Managers

Introduction to Leadership and Management

This is a face to face session to explore leadership and management. The course is a basic introduction to leadership and management designed to give aspiring managers tools and guidance in order to develop their management role.

Aims: This is a face to face session to explore the basic foundations to leadership and management.  This Leadership and Management course will help you to develop the skills that are essential for all leaders and managers. The course looks at the different qualities you may adopt and techniques for motivating and coaching your team and how to maximise your use of time. 

Outcomes: By the end of the session participants should have a better understanding of the key characteristics of leaders and managers and will be able to spot these differences within their own setting and be able to compliment the roles.

Leading Change Programme 2024-25

 

Target Audience: Newly appointed Headteachers and Acting Headteachers are required to attend all sessions.

All Headteachers and Business Managers are invited to attend the opportunities highlighted below. Please click on the session title for further course information.   Tailored Support for some headteachers will be provided through recommended participation at identified sessions.

 

Programme Description:  The PKC Leading Change Programme supports school leaders to fulfil the responsibilities of the head teacher role. It is an induction programme for new and acting headteachers in Perth and Kinross and a programme of tailored support for all headteachers. There is a focus on Leading Change and Improvement, with professional learning inputs planned to improve knowledge, understanding and skills. Sessions are also designed as an introduction to and refresher of PKC management procedures, systems/resources and approaches and are led by central teams from key services.

PKC Aspiring to Lead Programme - For Principal Teachers/Aspiring Principal Teachers

Target Audience: Suitable for primary and secondary principal teachers (including those in their first year in post or aspiring to a PT post in the next three years).

This leadership programme is specifically designed for a group of up to twentyfive principal teachers /aspiring principal teachers and will focus on building your individual capabilities and capacity as well as that of others. It will support your understanding of the middle leadership role and the skills to be an effective middle leader.

PKC Towards Headship Programme

Target Audience: The programme is suitable for Depute Head Teachers to support the execution of their role as a DHT and to prepare for the future role of Headteacher. It is expected that participants will be aspiring headteachers and be aiming to apply for the Into Headship programme within 3 years of participation in this programme.
