Senior Leadership Collaborative Conversations

Target Audience:  Headteachers, Depute Headteachers and Principal Teachers 

 

Programme Description:  Senior Leadership Collaborative Conversations (SLCCs) are small group facilitated discussions, allowing HTs, DHTs and PTs to come together to discuss current themes and to problem solve solutions together. These conversations are facilitated by Service Managers, QIOs and guest speakers such as Education Scotland colleagues.

Presenters: QIOs, Service Managers, ESOs, central officers, Education Scotland and partners

 

 Aims:

  • To actively engage in professional dialogue, encouraging and seeking views from other schools, partners and local authority to inform professional judgement and decision-making on current leadership themes
  • To build relationships and networks that engender commitment and collegiality
  • To share practice with colleagues and to hear about practice in other schools
  • To receive key local and national information and guidance relating to leadership themes

Outcomes:

  • To have an increased network of senior leadership colleagues
  • To have increased confidence in professional judgement and decision-making
  • To have an understanding of a variety of practice in other schools
  • To have raised awareness of key local and national information and guidance

Inspiring Improvement Assessment and Moderation programme

Target Audience: Suitable for all PKC Senior Leaders and QAMSOs (in BGE). It is designed to support HTs and their leaderships teams along with existing PKC QAMSOs to support robust and effective school assessment and moderation processes.

Presenter: Scott Haxton (QIO), Phil Neil (Education Scotland) and various ECS QIO and ESO colleagues

 

Aims: Provide an opportunity for school leadership teams to:

  • Engage in professional discussions around the most recent National and Local Assessment and Moderation updates.
  • Discuss key expectations and effective practice in developing successful moderation processes.
  • Review and enhance current practice in relation to moderation of learning, teaching and assessment.
  • Improve levels of confidence in school level arrangements which support and enhance teacher professional judgements.

 

Outcomes: 

  • Better awareness of the principles, expectations and range of approaches to support effective practice in assessment and moderation.
  • Improved communication and sharing of practice/resources to support moderation of learning, teaching and assessment.
  • Schools will have robust moderation processes and frameworks in place to support teacher professional judgements.
  • Increased confidence and accuracy in professional judgements in relation to progress and achievement.
